Meet our Founder

Sampson Brue is a distinguished leader in sports officiating, mental performance coaching, and leadership development. With over two decades of experience, Sampson has served as the Referee Scout Lead for the NBA's Referee Operations. He is also a Certified Mental Performance Mastery Coach through Brian Cain Peak Performance, LLC, and holds a certification in Sports Psychology for Peak Performance from Ashworth College with honors.

A Maxwell Leadership Certified Speaker, Coach, and Trainer, Sampson is attending the Harvard Kennedy School, pursuing a Public Leadership Credential. His notable achievements include induction into the Santa Barbara Court of Champions and an honorable discharge as a United States Navy Veteran.

Sampson’s extensive officiating career spans roles in the Continental Basketball Association, International Pro-Am, NCAA, and NFHS basketball, with assignments ranging from the Los Angeles Lakers training camps to NCAA Division II and California State Championships. He has served as an observer of officials for Division I men’s basketball in the West Coast Conference and has held leadership roles in the California Basketball Officials Association, including past President and Instructor.

In addition to his officiating accomplishments, Sampson has contributed to the development of future referees as the Assistant Director of the Professional Pathways Officiating Academy and through various leadership roles in mentoring programs. His other recognitions include being named to the Ventura Community College Spring 2004 Dean’s List, receiving the Ventura County “People’s Choice Award” for excellence in public service in both 1992 and 1993, and earning recognition and appreciation for his service to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department SWAT Team from 2001 to 2004. He was also honored with Pepperdine University’s “Outstanding Service Award” for his loyal and dedicated service to the students, faculty, staff, and administration of Seaver College, and in 2007, he was awarded the Oxnard Police Department “Reserve Officer of the Year” Award for his dedicated service to the community.
